The "Broadway Downtown" series, presented by the Duplex Cabaret Theatre, will continue with a special one night only concert featuring the music of noted musical director and composer Deborah Abramson.
On Monday, June 19 at 7pm at the Duplex, Abramson will be joined by a celebrated cast of Broadway veterans, including Betsy Morgan (
Bernarda Alba, Mamma Mia!), Sally Wilfert (
Assassins),
Megan Lawrence (
The Pajama Game, Urinetown) and
Michael Winther (
Mamma Mia!, Songs From an Unmade Bed).
A graduate of the NYU Musical Theatre Program, she has
written
Songs of Innocence and Experience (with
William Finn)
, Marco
Polo (with Peter Mills) and
Seasick (with Judson Pearce Morgan). As
Musical Director/Associate Musical Director, Abramson's credits include
Bernarda Alba, The Burnt Part Boys, the
Falsettos Reunion Concert,
Dessa Rose, James Joyce's The Dead and
My Life with Albertine. She has
also been involved in workshop productions of
Finding Nemo, The
Opposite of Sex and
The Royal Family of Broadway. "Broadway Downtown," now its second year, is an acclaimed series of The
Duplex Cabaret Theatre, featuring one-night-only concerts from some of
our favorite Broadway performers. Past participants have included Judy
