Lauren Molina and Jason Tam Set to Lead Keen Company's MARRY ME A LITTLE Off-Broadway; Opening 10/2

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company (Jonathan Silverstein, Artistic Director/Damon Chua, Executive Director) today announced that Lauren Molina and Jason Tam will star in Marry Me A Little, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, conceived by Craig Lucas and Norman René, directed by Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein. Marry Me A Little kicks off their 2012 - '13 season and will be followed by a newly revised version of the 1991 play, The Old Boy by A.R. Gurney.

Marry Me A Little will be choreographed by Dan Knechtges (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Xanadu - Tony® Award nomination, 110 in the Shade, and Sondheim on Sondheim) and have set design by Steven Kemp, costume design by Jennifer Paar, lighting design by Josh Bradford, and prop design by Ricola Willie. Musical Director will be John Bell.

Lauren Molina is an award winning singer/actor/songwriter/musician, hailed by The New York Times as a "...sweet voiced soprano, who plays the cello beautifully." She appeared on Broadway, originating the roles of Regina in Rock of Ages and Johanna in the critically acclaimed revival of Sweeney Todd (dir. John Doyle). In addition, she recently created the role of Megan in the World Premiere of Nobody Loves You at The Old Globe. She played Cunegonde in Candide at the Huntington, Goodman, and Shakespeare Theatre DC (dir. Mary Zimmerman) receiving the Helen Hayes Award for best leading actress, and the IRNE nomination. Off-Broadway: Rock of Ages, Next Thing You Know, Ernest In Love. Tour/Regional: Sweeney Todd (1st National Tour, ACT) winning IRNE Award for Best Supporting Actress, Ten Cents A Dance (Williamstown). Her folk pop album Sea for Two features the song "Sky and the Sea" which appeared on NBC's "Parenthood." A featured singer in The Ladies Who Sing Sondheim (with Barbara Cook, Patti LuPone, and Kristin Chenoweth), she also performed with Sarah Brightman on the La Luna tour. Weaving together several unknown Sondheim songs, Marry Me a Little tells the charming and bittersweet tale of love, loneliness and survival of the modern single. Two single strangers, left alone in their studio apartments on a Saturday night, pass their time with sweetly secret, shared fantasies, never knowing that they're just a floor away from each other and the end of their lonely dreams.

This production will contain material from Sondheim's catalogue that will be heard for the first time as part of this production: "Rainbows," written for the unproduced Into the Woods film (replacing "Two Fairy Tales") and "Yoo-Hoo!" cut from Sunday In the Park With George (replacing "Pour La Sport"); also being added for this production is "Ah But Underneath" (written for the London premiere of Follies), replacing "Uptown, Downtown". In addition, the musical features "Saturday Night," "So Many People," "A Moment With You" (from Saturday Night), "Bang!," "Silly People" (cut from A Little Night Music), "Can That Boy Foxtrot!," "All Things Bright and Beautiful," "Uptown, Downtown," "It Wasn't Meant to Happen," "Little White House," "Who Could Be Blue?" (cut from Follies), "The Girls of Summer" (from The Girls of Summer), "Your Eyes Are Blue" (cut from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum), "Marry Me A Little," "Happily Ever After" (cut from Company), and "There Won't Be Trumpets" (cut from Anyone Can Whistle).

Performances for this limited Off-Broadway engagement of Marry Me A Little at The Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues) will begin September 11th and continue through October 21st only, with opening night set for October 2nd.

All performances will be at The Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues) and will be Tuesday evenings at 7pm; Wednesday through Friday evenings at 8pm; Saturdays at 2pm & 8pm; and Sunday matinees at 3pm.
