Zam Not Spam Productions, as part of the 17th annual New York International Fringe Festival, is pleased to announce the NYC premiere production of Laura Zam's MARRIED SEX, directed by Shirley Serotsky. MARRIED SEX will play a special engagement at the Fringe Venue #9 Jimmy's No. 43 (43 East 7th Street, NYC). Performances begin Saturday, August 10 (3:45 pm) and continue through Thursday, August 22 (7:00 pm). Press are invited to all performances.
The wild world of women's sexual dysfunction! On Laura's honeymoon in Rome, she unearths...problems. Searching for a solution, she encounters an insane hypnotist, a jet-setting tantric mistress, a cynical sex therapist, a horny rabbi, and more. Want relationship tips? Come. It's a show you're definitely in the mood for!
In conjunction with MARRIED SEX performances, during the month of August, Ms. Zam will be hosting at least one New York City "Sex Brunch." This gathering of women includes a presentation about healthy female sexuality as well as a facilitated discussion led by Ms. Zam. Food will also be served. The venue for this event will be announced soon.

BIOGRAPHIES
Laura Zam (Playwright/Performer) is an award-winning writer, performer, and educator. To date, she has created seven one-person shows, which she has presented Off-Broadway, internationally, and across the US, including The Public Theater and Ensemble Studio Theatre (in NYC) and Divadlo v Celetne (in Prague). Regionally, she has presented her work at The Kennedy Center, The Berkshire Women in the Arts Festival, Theater J, Shakespeare Theatre, The National Theatre, and the U.S Holocaust Memorial Museum, among many other venues. Through her award-winning play Collaterally Damaged, Laura raises awareness about contemporary genocide and the aftermath of war. She also raises funds for genocide survivors. Laura's newest play Married Sex was commissioned by Theater J for their Locally Grown Festival; this play was a semi-finalist for the 2013 O'Neill National Playwrights Conference. As an extension of her art practice, Laura has spent the last 15 years engaged in trauma recovery through the use of performance and storytelling. Notable projects include a post-conflict workshop for teens in Bosnia and Herzegovina; a writing program for wounded soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan (at Walter Reed Army Medical Center); a workshop at the DC Rape Crisis Center; and a healing retreat for female veterans at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY. Additionally, Laura has used drama to facilitate dialogue and healing between Jewish Israeli and Pan-Arab teens, working at two international peace camps. At Arena Stage in Washington, DC Laura was the Director of Education/Southwest Programs, where she created eleven theater pieces that built community and gave voice to disenfranchised youth. A sought-after speaker, Laura has presented at the University of Maryland, The American Psychological Association, TEDx Potomac, and other events/venues. Awards include the Amiri Baraka Literary Prize, an Open Society Fund grant from the Soros Foundation, a Tennessee Williams Fellowship, an award from The Virtual Theatre Project's International Playwriting Competition, and an Artist Fellowship from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. Published work appears in Monologues for Women by Women II; Young Women's Monologs from Contemporary Plays; Time Out, Prague; Poet Magazine; Velvet Magazine and other
publications in the US and abroad. Laura has been a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts as well as a faculty member at Brown University, UC Berkeley, and George Mason University. Shirley Serotsky (Director) is the Associate Artistic Director at Theater J, where she directed the 2011 production of The History of Invulnerability; The Moscows of Nantucket; Mikveh (which received two Helen Hayes Nominations for Best Actress); and The Rise and Fall of Annie Hall (which received a 2009 Helen Hayes Nomination for Best New Play). She works as a freelance director in the DC area and beyond, and is particularly interested in the development of new work.
