Laura Bell Bundy's major label debut album Achin' And Shakin' is slated for release April 13 on Mercury Nashville. The infectious lead single "Giddy On Up" has been described as "a breath of fresh air" and "nothing short of a new female anthem" amongst industry critics since the premiere of the music video on January 18. "Giddy On Up" has received almost 1 million streams in a month and has sold over 30,000 digital singles. Now, reports People.com, Laura Bell Bundy will be performing the single at the American Music Awards in Las Vegas on April 18.  This will mark the first live broadcast of the single performed by Bundy.

Bundy tells People.com: "I want to make [my performance] interesting and entertaining...We'll be in Vegas so I want to do a little Cirque du Bundy - some tightrope walking, light myself on fire, real live horses...you can pretty much guarantee I'm going to be wearing a pair of hot chaps," she jokes.

"It's the ultimate...It's not even being on television in front of millions of viewers - it's more like all of your peers are there and you're finally part of this community."

"Our gut said Laura Bell Bundy would be a big hit and it exceeded our expectations," said Jay Frank, SVP Music Strategy, CMT. "#1 on CMT.com right out of the box and immediate sales from the first spin...she is a definite star in CMT's future."

In addition to the astounding web buzz, numerous radio markets have jumped on board and added Bundy's single to total over 28 stations countrywide in just 3 weeks.

"Giddy On Up" is the number one requested song at KILT, in Houston," said Jeff Garrison, PD KILT, VP of Country Programming, CBS.

Other top stations such as San Antonio's KAJA, Houston's KKBQ, San Jose's KRTY, Minneapolis's KEEY, Chicago's WUSN, Portland's KWJJ and KUPL, Denver's KYGO and both Phoenix station's KNIX and KMLE are in full support of the single some spinning it over 30 times a week.

Laura Bell Bundy has been performing lead and feature roles in New York and in Regional Theater since the age of nine. She is most familiar to Broadway audiences for originating the roles of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical, and Amber Von Tussle in the Tony Award winning musical, Hairspray, as well as a stint as Glinda in the smash hit, Wicked. In addition to her work in the theater, Ms. Bundy has also appeared as Marah Lewis in "Guiding Light" from 1999-2001 as well as guest appearances on "Cold Case," "Veronica Mars," and Comedy Central's "Strangers With Candy." She can also be found in such films as Dreamgirls, Life With Mickey and Jumanji. She covers everything from rockabilly to Dixie-flavored pop on her debut CD, Longing for a Place Already Gone, which she co-wrote and co-produced.
