THE ARTISTS SHOWCASE SERIES is pleased to present a special benefit screening of RICK McKAY's award-winning documentary film BROADWAY: THE GOLDEN AGE at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 21 at Makor, 35 West 67th Street, between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue. Tickets are $20 and can be ordered online under "Theatre" at www.makor.org or by calling (212) 601-1000.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion with Mr. McKay, actors Anita Gillette (Gypsy, Cabaret, Mistress Mona in "Moonstruck"), Dick Latessa (Hairspray) and Gavin Creel (La Cage Aux Folles, Thoroughly Modern Millie), choreographer/director Jerry Mitchell (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, La Cage Aux Folles, The Full Monty), dancer INA KURLAND (the original production of The King and I) and host/moderator Seth Rudetsky ("Seth's Broadway Chatterbox"). The panelists will share personal anecdotes about working on Broadway and answer questions from the audience.

In their own words, and not a moment too soon – BROADWAY: THE GOLDEN AGE tells the stories of our theatrical legends, how they came to New York, and how they created this legendary century in American theatre. This may be the last chance that these stories may be documented, for unlike film and television, live theatre exists only in the memories of those who were there watching, or more importantly, creating this magic. "Broadway" tells the stories of these legendary performers, composers and writers while illustrating their tales with amazing, rare, archival performance footage and these legends' own home movies and photos.

THE ARTISTS SHOWCASE SERIES was created by producer Geoffrey Soffer to present readings of plays and musicals, as well as concerts featuring stars of Broadway, cabaret, TV and film. Proceeds from all events are donated to a charity chosen by the artists involved. Past participating artists include Tony winner Jeff Whitty (book of Avenue Q), Tony and Emmy winner Debra Monk (Redwood Curtain, Picnic, Steel Pier), Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Julie Gold (Bette Midler's "From a Distance"), Matthew Morrison (Hairspray, ABC-TV's "Once Upon A Mattress"), Gavin Creel (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Anita Gillette ("Boys On The Side," "Moonstruck," Cabaret), Eden Espinosa (Wicked, Brooklyn), Stephanie J. Block (The Boy From Oz), and many others. For more information, please visit www.showcaseseries.org.
