Good Works Productions in association with Aizzah Fatima proudly present the line-up of plays that will be part of The Lady Liberty Theater Festival's 9-11 Free Staged Readings, dedicated to the memory of Captain Humayun Khan.

The readings will take place on Sunday, September 11th starting at 12:00pm at Urban Stages (259 West 30th Street, New York, NY 10001). The day will commence with an interfaith prayer and moment of silence for 9-11 victims, and culminate with a reception and signing of a condolence card for the Khan Family.

Captain Humayun Khan was an American citizen of Pakistani descent, and an officer in the United States Army who was killed in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His name came to national attention during the 2016 presidential campaign as an example of Muslim Americans serving in the military. His father Khizr Khan delivered a speech repudiating Donald Trump's views on Muslim immigration at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. Khizr's wife and Humayun's mother, Ghazala Khan, stood with him on the podium as he spoke. She later on wrote a column for The Washington Post which will be read as part of the 9-11 Free Staged Reading opening ceremony: "Trump criticized my silence. He knows nothing about true sacrifice".
