'Ladies Night Out on Broadway' Held Tomorrow, Oct.24

"Ladies Night Out on Broadway" will occur this Wednesday, October 24 at 5-7:30PM.  A pilot audience development program from The League of American Theatres and Producers, "Ladies Night Out" celebrates Broadway's most loyal demographic and raise awareness in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative of The Actors Fund.

Jackie Hoffman and Mary Testa, currently starring in Xanadu on Broadway, serve as spokeswomen. Moderated by Tony Award winning actress Phyllis Newman and Lite FM's Valerie Smaldone, the Women of Broadway Panel will include: Tony Award winning actress Marian Seldes, Former Miss America and Broadway Actress, Kate Shindle (Legally Blonde), actress Deidre Goodwin (A Chorus Line), General Manager Nina Lanann (The Color Purple), Producer Kristin Caskey (Legally Blonde), General Manager Charlotte Wilcox (Grease) and Tony Award winning Lighting Designer Natasha Katz (The Little Mermaid, The Coast of Utopia - Salvage

Opening Remarks begin at 5:30PM, by Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of the League of American Theatres & Producers, and Ladies Night Out hosts Jackie Hoffman & Mary Testa

The Women of Broadway Panel begins at 6PM.  All events are held at Spotlight LIVE (1604 Broadway b/t 48th and 49th Streets).

Broadway personalities Jackie Hoffman and Mary Testa from the hit Broadway show, Xanadu, will host "Ladies Night Out On Broadway" at a very special free party at Spotlight Live from 5 - 7:30 PM. Women who purchase a ticket to a participating show are encouraged to come to the event that will host a variety of activities including a Women-in-Theatre panel, Broadway karaoke, give-aways and raffles. As a part of the raffle, shuzsociety.com, an online magazine and networking site for shoe lovers, will raffle one-of-a-kind Broadway Boots decorated by a representative from each participating show. All proceeds will be donated to the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative of The Actors Fund. 

Twelve Broadway shows are participating in "Ladies Night Out" including A Chorus Line, The Color Purple, Curtains, Hairspray, Legally Blonde the Musical, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Phantom of the Opera, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Xanadu. Two Off Broadway shows are participating: The Fantasticks and Stomp.
