More stars have been announced for "Broadway on Broadway," the free outdoor cabaret that will be held in Times Square on Sunday, September 10 at 11:30 a.m.

Joining previously announced Tony Award-winning host Martin Short (Fame Becomes Me), as well as Donny Osmond, Haylie Duff and Broadway/"American Idol" stars
Constantine Maroulis (The Wedding Singer), Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray), Josh Strickland (Tarzan) and Frenchie Davis (Rent), will be Tony Award-winner LaChanze (The Color Purple), Hunter Foster and John Treacy Egan (both of The Producers), Eden Espinosa and Kate Reinders (of Wicked), and Bob Martin and Tony Award-winner Beth Leavel (of The Drowsy Chaperone).  Jay Johnson, of the upcoming The Two and Only, will host the pre-show.

"This year's production will feature select performances from almost every musical currently running on Broadway, and then some! In addition to perpetual favorites, attendees can expect a sneak peak at several upcoming shows scheduled for the 2006-2007 theatre season," promise press notes for the event.

More than 50,000 spectators are expected in Times Square to watch musical selections from popular favorites, including Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast, The Color Purple, The Drowsy Chaperone, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, The Producers, Rent, Spamalot, Tarzan, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Wedding Singer and Wicked.

Performances from this season's highly anticipated, soon-to-open shows, including Les Miserables, High Fidelity, Grey Gardens, Jay Johnson: The Two and Only, and They Times They Are A-Changin' will also be featured.

"We are celebrating our 15th anniversary in Times Square by producing one of our strongest programs to date. We are thrilled to have Martin Short joining us as host, and are happy to again be collaborating with the Times Square Alliance to bring the music and spirit of Broadway to the masses," said Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of the League of American Theatres and Producers.

"There's no people like show people, and we are eager to once again welcome theatre fans to our backyard for this memorable event," said Tim Tompkins, President of the Times Square Alliance.
