LaBute's SOME GIRL(S) Extends; Performances Begin May 17

MCC THEATER today announced a two-week extension through July 8 for the U.S. premiere of SOME GIRL(S) by Neil LaBute, starring in alphabetical order: Fran Drescher ("The Nanny"), Eric McCormack ("Will & Grace"), JUDY REYES ("Scrubs"), BROOKE SMITH (In Her Shoes) and Maura Tierney ("ER"). SOME GIRL(S) reunites LaBute with director Jo Bonney, who helmed MCC's critically-acclaimed, sold-out run of Fat Pig last season. The strictly limited engagement of SOME GIRL(S) begins preview performances on Wednesday, May 17 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC), and will extend two weeks past the original closing date of June 24, ending its run on Saturday, July 8. The Opening Night is set for Thursday, June 8, 7PM.

Set in four different city hotel rooms (Seattle, Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles), SOME GIRL(S) follows Guy (Eric McCormack), a soon-to-be-married NYC writer, as he pays a last visit to four ex-girlfriends before taking the plunge. SOME GIRL(S) also stars Fran Drescher as Lindsay, a Boston professor; Judy Reyes as Tyler, a Chicago artist; Brooke Smith as Sam, a Seattle housewife; and Maura Tierney as Bobbi, a Los Angeles doctor.

SOME GIRL(S) features set design by Neil Patel (The Mercy Seat); costume design by Mimi O'Donnell (Fat Pig); lighting design by David Weiner (Living Out) and sound design by Rob Kaplowitz (Fat Pig).

SOME GIRL(S) received its world premiere at the Gielgud Theatre in London (May 12 - August 13, 2005).

SOME GIRL(S) will perform May 17 – July 8 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street at Bedford), between Bleecker and Hudson Streets as follows:

Sunday matinee at 3pm; Sunday evening at 7pm; (Monday-DARK); Tuesday at 7pm; Wednesday-Saturday at 8pm; and Saturday matinee at 2pm

EXCEPTIONS: ADDED performance on Monday, June 5 at 7pm; ADDED matinee performance on Wednesday, June 7 at 2pm; Opening Night curtain on Thursday, June 8 is 7pm; no performance Sunday, June 11; ADDED matinee performance on Wednesday, June 21 at 2pm; early curtain on Friday, June 23 at 7pm; ADDED late evening performance on Friday, June 23 at 10pm; no performance Sunday, June 25.

July 4 Holiday/Final Week Schedule: Monday, July 3 (DARK); Tuesday, July 4 at 7pm; Wednesday, July 5 at 2pm matinee & 8pm; Thursday, July 6 at 8pm; Friday, July 7 at 7pm & 10pm; Saturday, July 8 at 2pm matinee & 8pm.

Tickets for SOME GIRL(S) are $65.00 for Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday performances and $70.00 for Friday-Saturday-Sunday performances. Tickets may be purchased through Ticket Central.com at 212-279-4200. Running time: 100 minutes, no intermission.

To reach the Lucille Lortel Theatre by SUBWAY, take the 1 train to Christopher St. – Sheridan Sq. and walk west to Hudson Street. By PATH train, exit at the Christopher Street station, served by Journal Square - 33rd Street and Hoboken - 33rd Street lines.

MCC THEATER PRODUCTION HISTORY

MCC Theater began its 20th anniversary 3-play 2005-06 season at the Lucille Lortel Theatre with Laura Wade's Colder Than Here, followed by Glen Berger's The Wooden Breeks. MCC reunites Fat Pig playwright Neil LaBute and director Jo Bonney on the US premiere of Some Girl(s). This staging will mark the fourth LaBute work produced by MCC following The Mercy Seat, The Distance From Here and Fat Pig.
