The final performance of Ping Chong's ANGELS OF SWEDENBORG -- his 1985 dance theatre piece being performed by La MaMa's Great Jones Repertory Company-- will be live-streamed on Sunday, November 13 starting at 2:30 p.m., it has been announced by La MaMa's Artistic Director Mia Yoo.

The live broadcast of ANGELS -- the final performance of the productions' three-week engagement -- marks the first time that a La MaMa theatrical production has been live-streamed for the public. International and national presenters and viewers will be hosting the free screening for audiences at their venues.

The performance will be followed by a Talk Back with Ping Chong and members of the Great Jones Repertory. Both online and audience members in the theater will be able to ask question live during the post-show discussion.

ANGELS OF SWEDENBORG -- which has been performing at La MaMa's Ellen StewArt Theatre (66 E. 4 St.) since October 27 and is the inaugural production of La MaMa's 50th anniversary season -- will be lived-streamed in collaboration with La MaMa's resident company Culturehub, a nonprofit art and technology studio that utilizes telepresence technology to facilitate multi-location
performances and arts education events. The goal of the La MaMa/Culturehub Project is to create a sustainable platform for international collaboration in the arts.

One of Ping Chong's signature works, ANGELS OF SWEDENBORG is a multi-media dance theatre meditation on the fate of modern man, caught between his material existence and spiritual aspirations. ANGELS OF SWEDENBORG is inspired by the 18th century scientist and philosopher Emanuel Swedenborg, who realized that science could not give him his wholeness or sense of spirituality, and subsequently wrote 30 volumes about the visions he had traveling to heaven and hell and back in his lifetime.

Mr. Chong's direction of Great Jones Repertory marks the first time in four decades that company -- founded by the late Ellen Stewart, Elizabeth Swados and Andrei Serban -- has been directed by a Guest Artist. Ping Chong and his work, however, are not unfamiliar to La MaMa: he was among the first generation of artists who found a home at La MaMa as a resident artist since 1978, premiering 18 works there through the years, including NOSFERATU, DESHIMA, KWAIDAN and BLIND NESS.

ANGELS OF SWEDENBORG is a dance theatre work by Ping Chong, with choreography by Ping Chong and John Fleming. Set and prop design is by Watoku Ueno; costume design by Stefani Mar; lighting design by Michael Chybowski; projection design by Jan Hartley; sound design by Brian Hallas; movement by Jeannie Hutchins; assistant director is Jesca Prudencio; Courtney Golden is
production coordinator. Denise Greber is production supervisor for Great Jones Repertory.

THE ANGELS OF SWEDENBORG is performed by Charlotte Brathwaite, Maura Donohue, George Drance, Sara Galassani, Renouard Gee, Henning Hegland, Laurence Martin, Allison Plamondon, Eugene the Poogene, Simeon Pollydore, Federico Restrepo and Perry Yung.

Tickets to the remaining performances of ANGELS OF SWEDENBORG -- November 10 thru 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 13 at 2:30 p.m. -- are $30 and $25 Students & Seniors. Tickets can be purchased online at www.lamama.org or by calling the box office at 212 475 7710.
