ABOUT THE PLAY: Charley Brock, deputy mayor of New York City, and his wife are having a dinner party. The first guests arrive and find no hostess, no butler, no cook, no dinner, and a host who seems to have shot himself through the earlobe. What to do? Cover-up, of course. But as more guests arrive, the explanations get more complicated and bizarre. When the police arrive, panic sets in, doors slam, and one-liners fly as they do everything possible to protect their friend's reputation from the local police and the media.

"I feel badly for her. Especially because one day she'll grow old and die."
Ernie Cusack - 40s-50s; Charlie's friend and therapist.
"Why didn't I see it? People running up and down stairs, no one answering the door, cans of shaving cream exploding. I'm on the staff of Bellevue Hospital, how could I believe such a story?"

"That IS my real name. I have two sisters named Taffy and Candy! I swear to God!"."
