Paris, 1934. A naïve American songstress turns up in a café, hoping to escape the Depression & make her name...but there are other things in store for her in the City of Light.

Titled Productions presents LOVE FOR SALE, a 1930's cabaret-play celebrating the music of Kurt Weill & his contemporaries, like Cole Porter & Friedrich Hollaender. Featuring Off-West End Award-nominee Kelly Burke & Broadway Music Director Charlie Alterman (Pippin, Next to Normal), this limited Off-Broadway run at Soho Playhouse begins previews on January 12, with the opening set for January 19, 2017 & will run through February 19. LOVE FOR SALE is directed by Robert F. Gross.

LOVE FOR SALE was originally developed as a site-specific project for Wilton's Music Hall, the oldest surviving music hall in the UK, eventually moving to London's premiere cabaret venue, the St. James Studio & then to the Edinburgh Fringe, where it played to rave reviews. Following sell-out performances in London & Edinburgh, LOVE FOR SALE makes its US debut.

Director Robert F. Gross commented that "the cabaret culture of European capitals between the two World Wars has become legend. We think of those haunts as sexy, subversive, even louche, reflections of an unstable world lurching toward destruction. And the Huron Club, with its speakeasy past, evokes part of that desperate and - to us - glamorous moment."

Kelly Burke was most recently seen at the Finborough Theatre (London), playing Pierre & Margaret Trudeau in Maggie & Pierre. Other London theatre includes Passion Play & Zelda (West End), Marie & Bruce (Royal Court), Our American Cousin, Blue Surge, The Sluts of Sutton Drive (Finborough), the world premiere of Neil LaBute's Exhibit A (Theatre Delicatessen), Lady Windermere's Fan (Tabard), As You Like It (Jagged Fence), Avocado (Kings Head) & $<0RP!0 (Theatre 503). Film includes Justice League, The Mummy (2017), Macbeth, Kill Your Friends. Radio includes Alfred Hitchcock's The Blind Man (opposite Hugh Laurie), Tender is the Night, The Corrections, Hombre & The Big Sleep (opposite Toby Stephens). Kelly trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art & was a finalist for the 2012 OffWestEnd Award for Best Actress.

Charlie Alterman was the Music Director for the Tony Award-winning revival of Pippin, as well as the Broadway productions of Next to Normal & Godspell. Charlie made his Broadway debut in Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me (as both Music Director & standby for several roles). Upcoming Broadway: Half Time (seen in Chicago this past winter as Gotta Dance). Other Broadway credits include Legally Blonde (Associate Conductor). He has toured with Grease & served as Music Supervisor for the North American tour of Next to Normal. Off-Broadway favorites: Almost Heaven: Songs of John Denver & Silence: The Musical! Regional work includes shows at The Muny, The Old Globe, A.R.T., Arena Stage, Huntington Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Trinity Rep & nine seasons with the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Concert appearances include shows with Brooke Shields, Frankie Avalon, Dana Reeve, Emily Skinner, Billy Porter, Carol Woods & Ken Page.

Robert F. Gross' directing credits include a five-star Edinburgh production of Zelda & its subsequent transfer to Trafalgar Studios in the West End, Micromania, The Star Rover (Collage Festival, Philadelphia), Vassa Zheleznova, Symphony of Rats, The Empire Builders, Absent Friends & over 60 other productions at the Bartlett Theatre at Hobart & WilLiam Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. He has been dramaturg at Opera Memphis, Playmakers Repertory Company & the American Theatre Company & was the Director of Theatre at Hobart & WilLiam Smith Colleges, New York.
