LMAOff-Broadway - playing weekly at the Broadway Comedy Club (318 West 53rd Street New York, NY 10019) and touring colleges, clubs and events nationwide - is donating proceeds from tonight's June 21st performance at 10pm to BRAKING AIDS Ride 2013. Tickets: $20 from every $20-35 ticket (via Ovation 866-811-4111) will be donated today, June 21, during the show, to sponsor the BRAKING AIDS Ride of Gerry Brown.

BRAKING AIDS Ride is a fully-supported, 3-day civil rights march on two wheels benefitting Housing Works' lifesaving HIV/AIDS services. This year's ride will take place September 27-29, and will go from Boston, MA to New York City. Last year BRAKING AIDS Ride raised $233,000 for Housing Works.

Through advocacy offices in New York City, Albany, Washington D.C., and abroad in Haiti and Puerto Rico, Housing Works fights for funding and legislation to ensure that all people living with HIV/AIDS have access to quality housing, healthcare, HIV prevention information, and other life-sustaining services, as well as legal protections from stigma and discrimination. Since 1990, Housing Works has engaged in an array of advocacy strategies: traditional government lobbying; weekly legislative visits to Albany by HIV-positive clients; non-violent civil disobedience, street protests, and rallies; and, impact litigation to ensure governments, entities, and individuals respect the rights of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. This inside-plus-outside pressure on elected officials has made Housing Works a force to be reckoned with on local, state, national, and international levels.

Gerry Brown participated last year in the support crew setting up OASIS stations where riders can take food, beverage and bathroom breaks. First diagnosed with HIV in 1995, MR. Brown first got involved with Housing Works in 2009. Last year, inspired by other riders - some much older than the 58 year old - Gerry bought a bike and started training. LMAO hopes to raise at least $1000 on June 21. In a perfect world LMAO hopes to raise the full $3500 minimum to participate in the ride. With your help it can be done!

LMAO, a division of EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH Improv Comedy, is entertaining a fundraiser for BRAKING AIDS Ride for second year in a row. Last year the cast performed at a BRAKING AIDS Ride fundraiser in New Brunswick, NJ. The lively crowd of riders and supporters loved the interactive scenes, games and musical numbers created on the spot based on audience suggestions and participation. The show plays weekly at the Broadway Comedy Club, performs regularly at Corporate Events and tours clubs, theaters and colleges nationwide.

Amelia Fowler, LMAO Cast Member since 2009 and BRAKING AIDS Ride volunteer since 2006, will host the June 21 event. This performance will feature founding members Laurice Fattal and Walt Frasier as well as other special guests (TBA). Come be a part of the show!
