Broadway's Douglas Sills can now add 'superhero' to his highly impressive list of accomplishments. According to The New York Post, the actor, who portrays Vito De Angelis in the new Broadway comedy Living on Love, was dining at New York City's 5 Napkin Burger Sunday night, located just a few streets away from the theater in which his show is now running.
As he ate, he noticed a fellow patron choking and immediately jumped into action. Other diners in the restaurant tell the Post that he "came to the woman's aid and gave her the Heimlich maneuver, saving her." The woman turned out to be renowned interior decorator Susan Zises Green, who had been enjoying her meal with her two grandchildren prior to the incident. When she realized she was choking on her burger, she frantically tapped Sills, who was dining at the next table, and managed to gasp the words, "Heimlich! Heimlich!"
Following the ordeal, Green told the Post, "Douglas Sills saved my life. I hope he'll live on love forever!" To show her gratitutde, the designer "paid for Sills' entire dinner," then "wished him luck on his Broadway opening."
All we can say is "Bravo Mr. Sills!"
