LIC ARTS OPEN's STUDIO 34 Group Exhibition Announces Open Call; Deadline 4/19

STUDIO 34 Group Exhibition at the Studio 34 Gallery, 34-01 38th Ave, 4th Fl in Long Island City, NY, announces an open call for its showing in conjunction with the LIC Open Studio Event, May 15-19th, 2013. Opening night is Thursday May 16, 6-9pm. The gallery is open Saturday May 18 and May 19, 12-7 (during open studios).

The exhibition will be the first group show at Studio 34 Gallery. The gallery is a 500+ sf space located on the Studio 34 floor with 18ft ceilings. The floor also consists of a large kitchen & seating areas for guests. The studios have over 30 artists that will be open for the LIC Open Studio event along with several other installations and films, a fashion show, demonstrations and talks, music and refreshments. The building has a passenger elevator for visitors convenience along with easy travel by R/M/Q/N/E/7 trains & lots of area parking.

The show will consist of works chosen from the submissions received. All work chosen must be hand delivered to the gallery at the date to be announced with acceptance & work must be suitably framed & ready for hanging. If any special installation is required, the artist must be available to assist with the installation & removal of the work. A $25 fee will be required from artists whose work is chosen which will go towards refreshments, signs, posters & cards advertising the show & events.

SUBMISSIONS:

- All mediums & sizes accepted for consideration.

- Deadline to submit April 19, 2013.

- 3-5 unenhanced, unmanipulated images in jpeg format, minimum width/height 500px, max size 2MB, e-mailed to lfa17@ymail.com

- When submitting your e-mail, please put "Group Show" in the subject area.

- Include your name, e-mail, phone.

- Number each image along with image title, medium, dimensions.

- Artists whose works are chosen will be given dates to hand deliver their artwork along with dates to pick up. All artwork will be handled with the utmost care by gallery personnel, however will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the work while in the gallery. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist.

The LIC ARTS OPEN (www.licartopen.org) is dedicated to fostering and growing the local arts through year round programming and specifically through the nine-day festival of open studios, exhibitions and performances each Spring.
