The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center will honor celebrated Tony Award-winning producer Robyn Goodman at its 12th Annual Women's Event on November 7 at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers.

The Women's Event will feature an evening of cocktails, dinner, a silent auction, dessert and dancing. All proceeds will benefit organizations in the New York tri-state area that serve and support women.

Inspired by a women's gala at Clinton's presidential inauguration, the Center hosted its first Women's Event gala dinner and dance at the Hammerstein Ballroom in 1998. In addition to Broadway Producer Robyn Goodman, the center will also honor Congregation Beth Simchat Torah Spiritual Leader Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum. They will also introduce their new, first-ever in our history woman Executive Director, Glennda Testone.

Actress Molly Ringwald ("Pretty in Pink," "The Breakfast Club," Cabaret, Enchanted April) will present Goodman with her award, while Georgetown University law professor Chai R. Feldblum will introduce Kleinbaum. As part of the evening, Tony nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo and additional original Avenue Q cast member Jennifer Barnhart will perform "If You Were Gay" from the 2004 Tony-winning musical.

Robyn Goodman, is a Tony and Drama Desk-winning producer whose Broadway credits include: West Side Story (current revival, Tony and Drama Desk nominee), In the Heights (Tony Award), High Fidelity, Barefoot in the Park, Steel Magnolias, Avenue Q (Tony Award), Metamorphoses (Tony nominee), A Class Act, Spoils of War, and Coastal Disturbances.  Additional credits include Off-Broadway's Alter Boyz (Drama Desk nominee), Tick Tick...BOOM!
