It's just been announced that cast members from the LES MISERABLES Broadway company along with other friends of Kyle Jean-Baptiste will gather tomorrow in Central Park to honor him. The event will take place at the Bethesda Fountain at 2pm. The fountain is located mid-park, on the north side of 72nd street.

Rising from Bethesda Terrace is Bethesda Fountain, with the famous Angel of the Waters statue atop. The statue references the Gospel of John, which describes an angel blessing the Pool of Bethesda and giving it healing powers. The fountain commemorates the Croton water system, which first brought fresh water to New York City in 1842. The angel carries a lily in her left hand - a symbol of the water's purity, very important to a city that had previously suffered from a devastating cholera epidemic before the system was established. The piece is the only statue that was commissioned for the Park. Created by Emma Stebbins, it also marked the first time a woman received a public art commission in New York City.
Baldwin Wallace University students are aiming to create a scholarship in the name of Kyle Jean-Baptiste, the LES MISERABLES star who died on Friday evening at the too young age of 21. Donations have already started to come in as family, friends, format cast mates, and lucky audience members mourn the loss and also campaign for Broadway to dim its lights.
The GoFundMe page reads:
"On August 29, 2015, we lost one of God's most precious gifts, Kyle Jean-Baptiste. He was taken from us before his time. As we all struggle to get through this tough time, Kyle's classmates (BWMT15) would like to make something good come from this tragedy. We would like to set up a scholarship in Kyle's name at his alma mater, Baldwin Wallace University.
Kyle worked hard every day to attend BW and cherished every moment he spent there. Because of his training at BW, Kyle was able to make his dreams of performing on Broadway a reality. We would like this scholarship to help other kids with big dreams do the same.
We would like to set up a Named Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship has a minimum of 25k and would be given out for years to come.
Kyle's memory will always live on and this scholarship will only help it grow. Kyle would help anyone that needed him, please let us help him continue to do so from heaven. Thank you in advance for you support. "To learn more and to contribute, click here.
