New York's flagship public media station THIRTEEN will air a special re-broadcast of the famed London Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert this evening, June 14 beginning at 7 pm.
The concert, which CELEBRATED the original London production's 25th Anniversary, took place on October 3, 2010 at the O2 Arena and starred Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean. Boe will reprise his legendary performance beginning September 1 in Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new Broadway revival of Les Miserables at the Imperial Theatre. The concert will also be broadcast on WLIW21 on Long Island Monday, June 15 at 7 pm and Saturday, June 20 on NJTV at 7 pm.
Boe is beloved by millions of Les Miz fans for his towering performance in the concert, which instantly turned him into a star. The Evening Standard proclaimed, "Alfie Boe is a stunning Valjean." The legendary concert was subsequently released on DVD and Blu-Ray, selling millions of copies worldwide. The concert also stars Broadway favorites Norm Lewis as Javert, Lea Salonga as Fantine, Ramin Karimloo as Enjolras and Nick Jonas as Marius. Samantha Barks, who co-starred in the film version of Les Miserables plays Eponine, Katie Hall as Cosette and Matt Lucas and Jenny Galloway as the Thenardiers. Earl Carpenter, currently starring as Javert on Broadway, performs the role of the Bishop of Digne. The concert's encore features Boe and three Valjean alumni: Colm Wilkinson, Simon Bowman and John Owen-Jones.Videos
