LEND ME A TENOR's Anthony LaPaglia and Tony Shalhoub will be featured on "The Wendy Williams Show" this Friday, July 23 at 10:00AM on FOX Channel 5 and at 10:00PM on MY9 Channel 9 in New York.
Set in the 1930s, LEND ME A TENOR is a screwball comedy that takes place when Tito Merelli, the fiery-tempered and world famous Italian superstar, arrives in Cleveland, Ohio to make his debut with the local opera and promptly goes missing. As Saunders, the show's presenter, conspires to cover for Tito's absence, placate his hot-blooded wife, and distract his most passionate fans, chaos on a truly operatic level ensues.
LEND ME A TENOR received three Tony Award nominations (Best Revival of a Play, Best Costume Design (Martin Pakledinaz) and Best Featured Actress (Jan Maxwell), four Outer Critics Circle Award nominations (Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Director of a Play (Stanley Tucci), Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play (which Jan Maxwell won), and Outstanding Costume Design (Martin Pakledinaz). It received three Drama League Award nominations as well: Distinguished Revival of a Play and two Distinguished Performance Awards (Jan Maxwell and Tony Shalhoub).
