White Plains Performing Arts Center will present the second production of the 2011-2012 Mainstage Season; Ken Ludwig's LEND ME A TENOR from Friday, March 9 – Sunday, March 18.

If you need a break from reality, what better place to go than Cleveland – especially the Cleveland Opera Company's gala 1934 production of Otello, where the lead is to be played by the renowned Italian tenor Tito Merelli…or was, until things started to go dreadfully wrong.

What follows in this madcap, screwball comedy is a zany chain-reaction of hilarious hijinks that took Broadway by storm twice and won 7 Tony and Drama Desk awards. It's the classic farce situation -- disaster; denial; recovery; complication; catastrophe – slamming doors and mistaken identities, the split-second collisions of purpose and confusing double entendres. Ken Ludwig's LEND ME A TENOR deftly blends slapstick humor with classical opera in a way that will leave you teary-eyed with laughter. It's a side-splitting comedy that will have you singing its praises!

Cast include Jorge Acosta (Tito Merelli), Sheira Feuerstein (Maggie), John Anthony Lopez (Saunders), Logan Rose Nelms (Diana), Joel Pellini (Max), Jeff Raab (Bellhop), Maria Silverman (Maria) and Maggie Thompson (Julia). The production is directed by WPPAC Artistic Director Jeremy Quinn who co-directed the WPPAC's acclaimed production of CATS in December.

Tickets, $35 ($25 for high school age patrons or younger), are available online at www.wppac.com, or by calling 914.323.1600. You may also visit the WPPAC box office Monday-Friday between 11 am and 5 pm. Group sales also available.
