Lincoln Center Theatre will present Dying City, a new play by Christopher Shinn, beginning performances Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). Opening night is Monday, February 26.
Originally produced in London this spring at
The Royal Court Theatre,
"Dying City tells the story of Kelly, a young therapist whose husband dies while on military duty in Iraq. A year later, his identical twin brother arrives unexpectedly at Kelly's door, seeking solace -- and answers to the mystery of his brother's death," according to LCT notes on the show, which will be helmed by
James MacDonald (New York Theater Workshop's
A Number, Exiles at
The National Theatre).
The cast of two and the designers for
Dying City will be announced at a later date.
Shinn's plays, which include
Four, Where Do We Live, What Didn't Happen, The Coming World and
Other People, have been produced at
Playwrights Horizons, Manhattan Theatre Club, the
Vineyard Theatre, among others. He is the recipient of an Obie Award for Playwriting and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
This season, in addition to
