LA CAGE AUX FOLLES Box Office Opens March 16

Beginning March 16, tickets for the upcoming Broadway revival of La Cage Aux Folles will become available at the box office of the Longacre Theatre.  Located at 220 West 48th Street, the box-office is open 10 AM-8 PM Monday through Saturday, and on Sundays 12 PM-7 PM beginning April 11. Tickets can also be purchased at telecharge.com/lacage, or by calling (212) 239-6200. Prices range from $36.50 - $132.50, with premium seating available for $251.50.

La Cage aux Folles, the splashy, high-kicking musical comedy, comes to Broadway this spring in a gloriously reconceived production that took London by storm. La Cage features Jerry Herman's Tony Award-winning score, with such fabulous songs as "I Am What I Am," "The Best of Times" and "Song on the Sand," and a Tony Award-winning book by Harvey Fierstein.

Based on the 1973 French play of the same name by Jean Poiret, La Cage Aux Folles focuses on a gay couple: Georges, the manager of a Saint-Tropez nightclub featuring drag entertainment, and Albin, his romantic partner and star attraction, and the farcical adventures that ensue when Georges' son, Jean-Michel, brings home his fiancée's ultra-conservative parents to meet them.

The musical's original 1983 Broadway production received nine nominations for Tony Awards and won six, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. The success of the musical spawned a West End production and several international runs. The 2004 Broadway revival won the Tony Award for Best Revival, and the 2008 London revival garnered the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival.
