Every Monday night in November at The Knitting Factory Brooklyn on Metropolitan Avenue, the Williamsburg Theatre Company, a multi-disciplinary arts organization based on Williamsburg, Brooklyn, present a collection of New York-based playwright David Ives' one-act comedies.

Known mainly as a music venue, The Knitting Factory will host this five-week theatre residency to provide a space for theatre-going and non-theatre-going audiences alike to take part in a dynamic and popularly accessible theatrical performance in its completely remodeled one-year-old location in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Both of the club's full service bars will continue to operate during the performance, and patrons are encouraged to enjoy the show as if it were any other night at the club. Drink specials will be offered, and with a ticket price of $10, it makes for a very reasonably priced night of theatre in one of New York's most up-and-coming districts.

This production of ALL IN THE TIMING is site-specific and will be using the entire main space of the club to its fullest theatrical potential. Those familiar with these oftproduced one-acts will be surprised to see them performed in a rock club's fluid and immersive environment; by taking the pieces out of the proscenium and bringing them closer to an audience, these short plays, praised by Time as "Theater that aerobicizes the brain and tickles the heart," will be allowed to live a more spirited existence, basking in the collective glow of a populace that daily experiences the perplexities and disorientation of contemporary life that Ives so side-splittingly renders. For those unfamiliar with these works, this production will be an opportunity to learn why David Ives' short plays are known to nearly every Drama Department in the U.S. and how they continue to be relevant to the way we live today.

The Williamsburg Theatre Company is an ad-hoc group of actors, comedians, and other theatre artists formed in the Fall of 2010 specifically to bring theatre to venues like the Knitting Factory. With a broad cultural awareness and diverse backgrounds in improvisation, music, conservatory training, and public radio, they recognize that theatre's survival requires new bodies to fall in love with live theatrical performance and old bodies to fall in love again (and then write checks). They are dedicated to propagating this love affair by making theatre that respects the time-honored traditions of the theatre-maker while fully embracing theatre's new role in our vastly transformed contemporary landscape. This production of ALL IN THE TIMING marks the beginning of their 2010-11 season, and each performance will feature an informational video of upcoming Williamsburg Theatre Company productions.
