In the summer of 2015, Killy Dwyer was sexually violated and physically assaulted outside of her apartment building in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. This show is being developed from that experience.

"The Man" is being workshopped as part of the urgent, evolving public conversation about sexual assault, specifically focusing on exposing the questionable response by police to cases that involve allegations of female victims. Presented with surveillance video of my own crime scene, surreptitiously recorded audio of police and detective interaction and a dark sense of humor.

Dwyer plan to invite the 79th Precinct who was responsible for the complete disastrous mess they made of the case. She is hoping this will result in opening a dialogue for change in regards to how specificialy FEMALE victims are treated and cases are handled and processed.

This evolving piece will be doubling as a fundraiser for Horse Trade Theater Company - her safe space, where she's developed 4 musicals and countless other shows since 2009.
