Kevin Pollak & More Set for 2013 Global Live Streamed Comedy Telethon

Transforming the World Through Comedy (TWTComedy) announced its partnership with nonprofit Malaria No More for its 2nd annual global interactive 24 hour live streamed stand-up comedy event. The 2013 digital telethon will take place on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. The live stand up shows will broadcast in real time on www.youtube.com/TWTComedy from seven global cities: Sydney, Australia (The Comedy Store), Singapore, London, Toronto (Yuk Yuk's), New York (Gotham Comedy Club), Austin (Cap City), and Los Angeles (The Hollywood Improv).

"It is important for us to partner with progressive charities that are open to being irreverent and willing to leverage multiple platforms to activate communities and amplify their story with measurable results," Amber J. Lawson, TWTComedy's Co-founder and CEO stated. "Malaria No More is all of these and is dedicated to ending malaria deaths, an amazingly clear objective that aligns with TWTComedy's mission and objectives."

The 24 hour digital telethon will be broadcast on the TWTComedy YouTube Channel, the world's only global network. YouTube is taking this innovative package out to the marketplace to find a title sponsor for this new media event. The offering includes takeover of the YouTube homepage and mobile site for 24 hours.

Confirmed talent to date includes Reggie Watts (Comedy Bang! Bang!), Jake and Amir (College Humor), Greg Fitzsimmons (Big Dog Radio), Josh Wolf (Chelsea Lately), Kevin Pollak (Kevin Pollak's Chat Show, The Usual Suspects), and Paul Mercurio (Writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart).

It was earlier this week that TWTComedy was nominated for the IAWTV Award for BEST LIVE EVENT, to be awarded at the second annual IAWTV awards on January 8, 2013 at CES. This nomination recognizes TWTComedy's premiere event that took place onNovember 16, 2011, as the first multi-platform, live stream, comedy event that benefited the catalytic philanthropy Off the Mat Into The World thanks to the talents of Colin Quinn, Marc Maron, Jeff Ross, Tom Papa, Bobby Slayton and many more. The event took place from New York (Gotham Comedy Club), Chicago (Zanies) and Los Angeles (The Hollywood Improv).
