Kerry O'Malley played her first performance as Mum in BILLY ELLIOT on Tuesday July 28th. O'Malley steps in for Leah Hocking, who originated the role, for 6 weeks while Hocking is away from the show.
Her final performance will be Sunday, September 13th. Leah Hocking returns to the role on Tuesday, September 15th.
Kerry O'Malley played "Betty Haynes," in Irvin Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS on Broadway, one-half of the beautiful and talented sister act that teams up with Bob and Phil. She played the role in Boston in 2005 opposite Bogardus, as well as in St. Paul in 2006 and returned to star in the Boston company last season. She is best known to New York audiences for her portrayal of the Baker's Wife in the Broadway revival of Into the Woods, for which she received Drama Desk and Outer Critic's Circle Award nominations, and has also appeared in Annie Get Your Gun, Cyrano, Translations and at City Center Encores! in Promises, Promises. She has also been seen in all three seasons of the Showtime series "Brotherhood", playing the sister to the titular brothers.At the Tony Awards on June 7th, 2009, Stephen Daldry's production of Billy Elliot the Musical celebrated a big number of wins confirming the British musical as an internationally award-winning hit.

The London production of Billy Elliot the Musical last month celebrated its fourth birthday in May and its 1700th performance as 12 year old Oliver Gardner from Bath joined Tom Holland (12 years old from Kingston-upon-Thames), Tanner Pflueger (12 years old from Norfolk, Nebraska), Fox Jackson-Keen (13 years old from Hornsey, London) and Bradley Wilson (12 years old from Doncaster) to play the title role. First performed at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney in November 2007, the Australian production has now transferred to Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne.
