Kerry Butler, Alan Campbell and More to Star in CLINTON: THE MUSICAL Industry Readings Next Month

Deadline reports that NYMF and Edinburgh Fringe hit CLINTON: THE MUSICAL is headed for two starry showcases in New York City next month, featuring Kerry Butler as Hillary and Alan Campbell as Bill. The industry presentations will take place on November 6 and 7, directed by Dan Knechtges (Xanadu, Lysistrata Jones).

Butler has appeared on Broadway in Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Catch Me If You Can, Rock of Ages, Xanadu, Little Shop of Horrors, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, Blood Brothers and Les Miserables. Campbell is known for his work in Mamma Mia!, Contact and Sunset Boulevard.

Also in the cast are Duke LaFoon, Judy Gold, Kevin Zaks, Veronia Kuehn, Darren Bluestone, Josh Lamon and Kara Guy.

A new musical created by a team of Australian brothers, Paul and Michael Hodge, CLINTON made its US debut at the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival. CLINTON was also presented at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe where it received a nomination for best new musical, then transferred to King's Head, London.

The official description reads: "It's hard enough being president by yourself. Bill Clinton's problem is that there are two of him. Literally. CLINTON follows two Bill Clintons and Hillary on their quest to save their presidency and change America. With appearances by the Clintons, Newt Gingrich, Kenneth Star, Monica Lewinsky, Dick Morris and, of course, Eleanor Roosevelt."
