Kennedy to Become AP's New Theatre Writer/Reporter

According to a report by the LA Times, Mark Kennedy will be taking the place of respected Associated Press Theatre critic Michael Kuchwara, who recently passed away as a result of complications with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Kennedy, who has worked at AOL News since March, had worked for te AP for 13 years, will return as both theatre writer and reviewer, and will also be covering music, movies, and pop culture happenings. In addition to his hisotry with theatrical writing, Kennedy also worked on events like Hurricne Katrina and 9/11.

Kuchwara was the drama critic and drama writer for the Associated Press since 1984. Before being named to that position, he worked for the AP in Chicago as a general assignment editor and reporter and in New York on its General Desk, the main editing desk for national news. Born in Scranton, Pa., he is a graduate of Syracuse University. Kuchwara also has a master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. Kuchwara is a past president of the New York Drama Critics' Circle.
