Keith Josef Adkins and Devin Haqq have assembled a spectacular cast for the private industry reading of their socially-charged horror screenplay The Night Man at United Talent Agency (UTA) in NYC on Monday, September 10th.
The Night Man is the story of a small but thriving, black community targeted by a strange creature on the occasion of the town's anniversary. Two brothers must save the town from this terror and confront their own haunted past.
Korey Jackson (Off-Bway's Bubbly Brown Girl, House of Cards, 5 Flights Up), Marcus Callendar (Starz's Power, Straight Outta Compton), Denise Burse (Bway's American Daughter, Netflix's Black Mirror), Joniece Abott-Pratt (Off-Bway's House Will Not Stand, Netflix's Luke Cage), Anthony Chisolm (Bway's Jitney, HBO's Random Acts of Flyness), Pernell Walker (Off-Bway's Dolphins and Sharks, AMC's Dietland, HBO's The Deuce), Danny Johnson (Netflix's Luke Cage, Daredevil) and Geoffrey Cantor (Netflix's Daredevil, Amazon's The Tick) lead the cast.
Russell G. Jones (, Bway's Saint Joan, FX's The Americans, Netflix's Godless) will direct.
Keith Josef Adkins - plays have been produced Off-Broadway and regionally. As a screenwriter, he was recently staffed on Katori Hall's Untitled TV series for Starz, ABC'S For The People and CBS' The Good Fight. His feature The Turnpike was a finalist at the 2016 Urban World Film Festival. He's also developed a TV pilot with Kingsize Productions for CBS and a feature film with Inkubate Entertainment.
DEVIN HAQQ - recently appeared Off-Broadway in David Harrower's Knives in Hens at 59E59 Theatres. His feature film, Ambition's Debt, won the 2017 Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature at the prestigious American Black Film Festival (ABFF). Ambition's Debt was also selected for the prestigious 2017 Newport Film Festival. Devin's developed a feature film with Inkubate Entertainment.
