Tony-winning diva Judy Kaye will offer a musical salute to the great composer on August 3rd and 4th in Sing My Heart: The Music of Harold Arlen at the Cabaret at Caramoor in Westchester County; both concerts will be held at 8:30 PM.  She will sing such Arlen standards as "It's Only a Paper Moon," "Stormy Weather," "I've Got the World on a String" and "Accentuate the Positive," in the cabaret.

The versatile Kaye most recently won raves as tone-deaf society soprano Florence Foster Jenkins in the York Theatre's Souvenir.  She is a Tony-winner for her performance as Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera, and she also received a nod for Mamma Mia!, in which she originated the role of Rosie on Broadway.  She received a Theatre World Award for On the Twentieth Century, in which she replaced Madeline Kahn as the tempestuous Lily Garland.  Other Broadway credits include Ragtime (in which she played Emma Goldman), Oh, Brother! and GreaseIn addition to numerous studio cast albums, she has two solo CDs--Diva by Diva and Songs from the Silver Screen.

Arlen was the composer of Hooray for What!, Bloomer Girl, St. Louis Woman, House of Flowers, Jamaica and Saratoga.  However, he is probably best known for writing the score of The Wizard of Oz with E.Y. "Yip" Harburg, who was a regular collaborator along with lyricist Johnny Mercer. "Come Rain or Come Shine," "A Sleepin' Bee," "Last Night When We Were Young," "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea," "I Gotta Right to Sing the Blues," "Blues in the Night," "My Shining Hour," "What's Good About Goodbye," "If I Only Had a Brain," and "Over the Rainbow" are just a few of his songs, which were often infused with the sounds of jazz and blues.

Tickets for Sing My Heart: The Music of Harold Arlen, which are $55, are available by calling (914) 232-1252. Caramoor is located at 149 Girdle Ridge Road in Katonah, NY (in Westchester County, 40 miles northeast of N.Y.C).
