After a well-received December performance, (Le) Poisson Rouge once again presents The Songwriter's Orchestra on Saturday March 12th at 8pm. The concert will feature music by Kate Davis, Eisa Davis, Sarah Dooley, Olivia Harris, John-Michael Lyles and Jean Rohe. The Songwriter's Orchestra is an ensemble of 12 orchestral musicians that accompanies talented singer/songwriters in new arrangements of their songs. This eclectic group of songwriter's includes three new collaborations and three returning performers. Kate Davis was named one of 2014's "15 Fresh Females Who Will Rule Pop" by MTV. She has performed at The Kennedy Center, The Bowery Ballroom, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall-as well as pretty much every noteworthy club in NYC. Her Post-Modern Jukebox Cover of "All About That Bass" has garnered over 15 million view on youtube. Eisa Davis has appeared on Broadway Passing Strange and has received numerous awards for her playwriting and songwriting. Sarah Dooley's hit album "Stupid Things," rose to #19 on the iTunes pop charts. She has been featured on NPR and in the NYTimes Freakonomics Blog. Olivia Harris has performed throughout the city with her group Olivia and the Parkers at venues such as The Bitter End, Highline Ballroom, Cornelia Street Cafe and EcoFest in Times Square. John-Michael Lyles has appeared as an actor in the off-Broadway productionsThe Flick, Jasper in Deadland and Brooklynite. His music has been performed at 54 Below, Joe's Pub and Don't Tell Mama. Jean Rohe has been described as "a sure-footed young singer-songwriter" by The New York Times. Her latest release, Jean Rohe & the End of the World Show, was hailed as "masterful" (Daily News) and "enchanting" (Elmore) and won three Independent Music Awards in 2014.

The Songwriter's Orchestra has performed at the Laurie Beechman Theatre and 54 Below to great success. They have previously worked with Shaina Taub, Magnus Ferguson and Grace McLean among others. Every song is presented in a brand new arrangement, transformed from its original form into a new version so the group of 12 string, wind, brass and percussion players can serve as the sole accompaniment. The ensemble is run by arranger Solomon Hoffman, who recently orchestrated Far From Canterbury (NYCFringe Festival), Plath (NYCFringe Festival), and War Lesbian (Dixon Place). The group's producer is Laura Quintela.

The musicians in the ensemble are top classical and musical theatre players that have studied at The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, The New School, and Eastman. This concert will feature Jordan Lee (violin), Kevin Kuh (violin), Jay Julio (viola), Vivian Ludford (cello), Caroline Sonett (flute), Julie Pacheco (clarinet), Alex Davis (bassoon), Anthony Limoncelli (trumpet), Avery Roth-Hawthorne (horn), Daniel Linden (trombone), and Andrew Marshall (percussion)

The Songwriter's Orchestra play Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleeker Street) on 3/12/16 at 8pm, doors at 7pm. Advanced tickets are $15 and day of show are $20.
