Karen Olivo Surpasses Kickstarter Album Project Goal

Tony Award-winning Broadway star Karen Olivo recently kicked off a crowd-sourcing campaign to fund her new solo album project via Kickstarter and the current tally now shows that the triple-threat has surpassed her original goal.

Olivo sought to raise $35,000 for the album project, with the current total tally nearly topping $40,000, with 3 more days to go.

The official description of Karen Olivo's album project is as follows: "I have always wanted to do an album of my own and even began working on one not long ago. Unfortunately, I was delayed in the process. But after choosing a new direction for my art, I'm back to finish what I started and I can't wait to share it with all of you! OUR IDEA - As we start developing the sound of this album, we will begin with a (top secret) song list that will include Broadway, Folk, and Pop titles with a few originals. Then our team will work together create arrangements and orchestrations that will bring the music to life! As we continue through the development process, the sound will continue to grow and take on a life of its own and ultimately become a complete work of art ready for you to enjoy!! OUR COMMUNITY - I feel very strongly about the power of art, especially independent art. All of the money that goes into developing, recording, and packaging this album will allow independent artists (musicians, photographers, engineers, vocalists, writers, etc.) to continue pursuing their individual paths of artistic and creative growth. Collaborating with artists has always been a focus for me and I am excited to create with this amazing team to make this album for you all! OUR NEED - I am asking for your support to make this album.
