Yet another addition to the 9th Annual Nightlife Awards brings Tony Award-winner Karen Olivo (West Side Story) to the Town Hall stage. She will join cabaret legend Karen Akers, and nightlife stars Billy Stritch, Jim Caruso, and The Rescignos are the latest to join this year's Nightlife Awards. The Nightlife Awards has no acceptance speeches -- it's just pure entertainment provided by the winners and special guest stars. The show has been hailed by The New York Times as "The equivalent of The Tony Awards for New York Nightlife." As always the vast majority of the winners, chosen by the press, have agreed to come to Town Hall and perform, as well as a growing list of guest stars. In addition to Karen Akers, Billy Stritch, Jim Caruso, and THE RESCIGNOS, among those who have already agreed to grace the Town Hall stage on Monday, January 31st are Christine Ebersole, Jessica Molaskey, Nellie McKay, Charles Busch, Julie Halston, Karen Oberlin, Aaron Weinstein, Liz Lark Brown, MARK McCOMBS, HARVARD SAILING TEAM and Hannibal Buress. The show will be hosted by Emmy Award Winner Bruce Vilanch.
Said the show's creator and producer,
Scott Siegel, "This is that exciting part of the drive up to the night of the show when we get one star after another to participate in this very special evening of entertainment. Getting
Karen Akers and then
Karen Olivo, back to back like that, is a thrill for any producer. And having
Bruce Vilanch at the center of our show as the host makes the Nightlife Awards like the Oscars but with much, much better music! But the most amazing aspect of the Nightlife Awards is that it's non-stop entertainment by the greatest entertainers in the world. All on one stage, on one night. This year, it's Monday, January 31st at 7 PM at The Town Hall."
9th Annual Nightlife Awards is created and produced by
