New York Theatre Barn will present a concert of the new all-female musical The Belle of Tombstone on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Museum of Jewish Heritage.

With a book by Thomas Edward West (The Enchanted Cottage) and Sheilah Rae (Funny, You Don't Look Like A Grandmother), music by Michele Brourman (Dangerous Beauty), and lyrics by Sheilah Rae, The Belle of Tombstone is about the Jewish wife of legendary frontier lawman, Wyatt Earp, and the women of the American West.

Passionate and fearless, young Josie Marcus escaped her upper-class Jewish family in 1879 San Francisco for a wild adventure in Tombstone, Arizona. While there, Josie recklessly caused a cascade of tragedies, including incidents leading up to the infamous Shootout at the O.K. Corral. Decades later in Hollywood, Josie's convinced that she has buried her own past and burnished her late husband Wyatt Earp's reputation, until her sister-in-law Allie Earp bursts into her carefully guarded life, hell-bent on setting the record straight. Weaving together Hollywood's golden era and the legendary American West, The Belle of Tombstone spotlights the untold story of the gutsy women behind one of history's most mythic moments in this compelling new musical.

The concert stars Karen Mason (Sunset Boulevard, Wonderland, Hairspray) as Wyatt Earp's wife Josie Marcus Earp, and Heather Mac Rae (Falsettos, Transport Group's Picnic and Come Back, Little Sheba) as Allie Earp. The 11-member all-female cast also includes Leslie Becker (Amazing Grace), Alison Lea Bender (Academia Nuts), Jennifer Blood (Matilda), Hannah Rose DeFlumeri (Bullets Over Broadway), Carol Linnea Johnson (Mamma Mia), Stephanie Palumbo, Brooklyn Shuck (Matilda), Katie Thompson (Giant), and Zurin Villanueva (Shuffle Along). Joe Barros (Gigi, Cagney) directs, Drew Wutke is the music director (Fiasco's Into the Woods), the stage manager is Jennifer Delac, orchestrations are by Bruce Coughlin (The Light in the Piazza), Katharine Pettit is the line producer, and the associate director is Sammi Cannold (Great Comet, Ragtime on Ellis Island).

In 2011, New York Theatre Barn produced an earlier version of the show called I Married Wyatt Earp Off-Broadway at 59E59 Theatres in collaboration with Prospect Theater Company as a part of the Americas Off-Broadway. After the show closed, Artistic Director Joe Barros secured grant funding for the writers to re-work the piece. What transpired was The Belle of Tombstone, the show that they had always set out to write. The show now weaves together 1939 Hollywood and the Wild West.

Showtime is 7PM at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, located at 36 Battery Place in New York City. Tickets will be on sale April 1 on the museum's website - www.mjhnyc.org - and will cost $20 for general admission and $15 for museum members.

New York Theatre Barn, a Manhattan based non-profit theatre company founded in 2007, incubates, develops, and produces new musicals that tell untold stories. Our stories are inspired by the lives of real people and actual events that challenge our preconceived ideas, and promote inclusion and positive social change. In today's divisive political and social climate, we believe that now more than ever, these types of stories need to be seen and heard by more people. For more information: www.nytheatrebarn.org.
