As previously announced, Douglas Hodge and Karen Gillan are set to lead INADMISSIBLE EVIDENCE at the Donmar Warehouse. Joining them in the production are Karen Gillan, Esther Hall, Amy Morgan, Alice Sanders, Daniel Ryan, Serena Evans, and Al Weaver.
Jamie Lloyd, associate director of the Donmar Warehouse, will direct the production; Soutra Gilmour will serve as designer, and Ben and Max Ringham will compose a score, all evoking what Lloyd refers to as a "Mad Men" sixties feel.
Inadmissible Evidence was first staged in London in 1964, with Nicol Williamson as the central character who consistently makes less-than-moral decisions. Williamson won a Tony award for his performance when it transferred to Broadway. In 1968 it was made into a film starring Eileen Atkin.
Gillan, primarily a television actress, will be making her professional theatre debut in the show. She's well known for her role as Amy Pond on the British series Doctor Who, as well as providing the voiceover for several related video games. Hodge won a 2009 Olivier Award as well as a 2010 Tony Award for his portrayal of Albin in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. In addition to his theatre credits, Hodge has another life as a songwriter, writing an eclectic mix of jazz and folk inspired tunes and made his Birdland concert debut earlier this year.
Performances of the play will begin October 13.
