KIT- Kairos Italy Theater, the foremost Italian company in New York, hosts a fundraising gala "Potions & Passions," featuring renowned Italian playwright Mario Fratti (Nine) as Guest of Honor. The event will be held at the Bernie Wohl Center at Goddard Riverside, 647 Columbus Avenue, NY, NY tonight, April 8th 2015, at 6:30pm.
The evening will benefit Kairos Italy Theater's upcoming productions of "The Mandrake Root" by Niccolo' Macchiavelli and "The Decameron" by Giovanni Boccaccio, running in repertory at Bernie Wohl Center, April 9 - 12. It will also be in support of the third edition of In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY, the first Italian theater festival presented in all five NY boroughs, produced by KIT - as well as other productions of KIT's 2015-2016 season.
The event will feature special performances by up-and-coming Italian musicians Livia Lvx and Antonio Lunetta, and appearances by KIT company members. Kairos Italy Theater's Founding Artistic Director, Laura Caparrotti, will host the event and preside over a raffle and silent auction. "Potions & Passions" will also feature a delectable buffet dinner of homemade Italian food, signature cocktails, live entertainment, red carpet pictures and more. Playwright Mario Fratti - the evening's Guest of Honor - is a prolific playwright and drama critic who was born in Italy but has been living in New York since 1963. He had a long run on Broadway with the musical "Nine" (adaptation of his play "Six Passionate Women" - Life of Fellini - film "8 ½") and is author of 91 plays, which have been performed in more than 700 theaters in 19 languages.

The In Scena! festival is a program of Kairos Italy Theatre (KIT) and its Artistic Director, Laura Caparrotti. In 2014 In Scena! presented six full productions, four readings, a conference and a poetry even. Events were held in all five boroughs for the second year. The Festival was inaugurated in 2013 as an official event of "2013 Year of Italian Culture" in the USA, under the auspices of the President of the Italian Republic with the Patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Italy in Washington, D.C.
