Kacie Sheik, Alyse Alan Louis and More Sing New Musicals At The D-Lounge

On Monday, December 12, 2011, New York Theatre Barn will present NYTB in the D-Lounge, a monthly platform for emerging musical theatre writers (now in its 4th year), at the Daryl Roth Theatre. In celebration of the holiday season admission is free for the December installment. The evening will feature friends and colleagues of New York Theatre Barn including songs from past and future projects.

The featured writers are Joshua H. Cohen, Daniel S. Acquisto (Like You Like It), Jake Brandman, Michele Brourman (I Married Wyatt Earp, Dangerous Beauty), Sammy Buck (Like You Like It, Speargrove Presents), Ella Rose Chary, Dan Collins (Southern Comfort, Wood), Brandon James Gwinn (Matchmaker Matchmaker I’m Willing to Settle, Speargrove Presents), Timothy Huang (Costs of Living), Gordon Leary (Cheer Wars, Pregnancy Pact), Julia Meinwald (Pregnancy Pact), Sheilah Rae (I Married Wyatt Earp), Zoe Sarnak (A Lasting Impression, Mix Tape), Peter Saxe, Katya Stanislavskaya (Lightning Man, Women on Love), and Sam Willmott (Yo, Vikings!).

The evening’s celebration features performances by Ally Bonino, Ellen Condon, Rebecca Dealy (Like You Like It), Michael Deleget, James Donegan (Forbidden Broadway), Alexa Green (Wicked), Joshua Isaacs, Amy Linden, Alyse Alan Louis (Mamma Mia), Emily McNamara (The Awesome 80’s Prom), Johnnie Moore (Arias With A Twist, The Legend of Julie Taymor), David Perlman (Baby It’s You, Yank, Iron Curtain), Babs Rubenstein, Amy Rutberg, Kacie Sheik (Hair), Anne Wechsler, Monica Willey and more to be announced.

The December 2011 installment of NYTB in the D-Lounge will take place on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 7:30pm at the D-Lounge, located at the Daryl Roth Theatre, 101 East 15th St. (just east of Union Square). Under the direction of Joe Barros (Producing Artistic Director) and Joy Lanceta (Managing Director), New York Theatre Barn is a non-profit theatre company founded in 2007 and is dedicated to the investigation, development, and advancement of new works. Productions include the all-female musical I Married Wyatt Earp (59E59 Theaters/in partnership with Prospect Theater Co.) with Heather Mac Rae and Carolyn Mignini, the musical Wood (New York Musical Theatre Festival/Emily Miller) with Cady Huffman, and Bridget Bailey’s award winning solo play Child of Hungry Times. New York Theatre Barn has been instrumental in the development of Adam Gwon’s Ordinary Days, the musical parody Hey, You Know What Movie Would Make A Good Musical?, Cait Doyle’s Hot Mess in Manhattan, Katie Thompson’s R.R.R.E.D. The company is currently developing the new musical Speargrove Presents. New York Theatre Barn is a proud member of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre.
