Kabbalah is touring the U.S. for the first time, dashing through New York, Los Angeles, Berkeley, Santa Rosa, and Santa Cruz in May/June, 2012.
Rooted in Jazz, Klezmer and musical traditions of Southern France, Kabbalah plays eccentric, dancefloor-friendly jams sung in Yiddish, French, English and Russian.
On Boxes, Bagels & Elephants, their new album, the five-piece group brings a theatrical flair and hip, carnivalesque edge to original songs in Yiddish (and English and French and Russian). Surf-rock guitars and North African answers to mandolins, vibes and samples, fables of integrating elephants and devilish warnings collide for a defiantly unique, unstoppable good time.
