Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots will celebrate its landmark 1000th performance on Broadway on Wednesday, August 26th with a ticket giveaway and "fabulous footwear" contest for fans. To pay homage to the show's now-iconic red boots, the first 50 people in line at the Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th St) wearing red shoes when the box office opens at 10:00 AM will receive a free pair of tickets to that evening's performance. Tony Award-winner Billy Porter will be on hand at 10:00 AM to pick the three most fabulous pairs of footwear, and winners will get to join the cast backstage after the evening performance for a celebratory toast and custom Kinky Boots cupcakes provided by Baked by Melissa.
