Julian Yeo and his Trio will perform some of his favorite Great American Songbook standards, coupled with some originals, at The Triad, April 19th at 9:30pm and April 26th at 7pm. The show, I Remember You, is directed by Ricky Ritzel, with musical direction/piano by Jesse Gelber, Dough Largent on bass and Kevin Dorn on drums.
Press releases state, "Julian Yeo possesses a vintage recording voice that evokes a nostalgia for singers of the past like Fred Astaire, Dick Haymes & Rudy Vallée. At the same time, his renditions are undeniably hip & refreshingly unique. Julian moved to New York City to take up a professorial position at Columbia University. Encouraged by friends in the live music scene, Julian made his debut in the West Village in March 2006. Since then, he has been an exciting addition to the NYC jazz & cabaret scene. Currently, Julian performs at various venues in NYC, as well as with the 10-piece, Black Diamond Dreams Orchestra."
Yeo will be promoting his debut CD,
Old New Borrowed Blue. Following his April 19th performance, guest are invited to sit in with the band for a special "jam."
Julian Yeo and his trio will perform Thursdays, April 19th at 9:30pm and April 26th at 7pm. The Triad is at 158 W. 72nd St. Tickets are $15, 2 drink minimum. For reservations, call (212) 362-2511. For more information, visit
