The Hollywood Reporter reports that Julia Roberts will be honored for her performance in AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY with the Spotlight Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on January 4, 2014. The festival runs January 3-13, 2013.

Julia Roberts is a consummate actress with a range as vast as her talent. Her ability to consistently give standout performances over the past 25 years is remarkable," said PSIFF chairman Harold Matzner.

Roberts will join the ranks with past awardees
Jessica Chastain,
Amy Adams and Helent Hunt. Also set to be honored at this year's festival are
Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave) for Director of the Year,
Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club) and
Sandra Bullock (Gravity) with Desert Palm Awards, and
Bruce Dern (Nebraska) with the Career Achievement Award.
Roberts also recenlty accepted the Hollywood Film Award for her portrayal in AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. She will next appear in the TV movie version of THE NORMAL HEART. Her past film credits include Mirror Mirror, Larry Crowne, Eat Pray love, Duplicity, Charlie Wilson's War, Ocean's Eleven and Ocean's Twelve, Closer, Mona Lisa Smile, Erin Brockovich, Notting Hill, Stepmom, Steel Magnolias, Pretty Woman, Mystic Pizza and more.

AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY tells the dark, hilarious and deeply touching story of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.
Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning play of the same name made its Broadway debut in December 2007 after premiering at Chicago's legendary Steppenwolf Theatre earlier that year. It continued with a successful international run and was the winner of five Tony Awards in 2008, including Best Play.
