Jujamcyn Theaters to Be Honored with 2012 June Briggs Award

Briggs Inc. today announced the 10th annual June Briggs Awards honorees. The June Briggs Awards honor excellence in New York City's hospitality and destination management services, as well as outstanding contributions to New York's cultural life. The presentation of the awards will take place on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at The Mandarin Oriental (80 Columbus Circle).

The 10th Annual June Briggs Awards winners include:

Givenik.com – Honoring Broadway's Jujamcyn Theaters (Jordan Roth, President) for its passion for both live entertainment and its ticketing service that gives back (5% of each ticket sold) to the not-for-profit community.

David Bouley - New York City's own "top chef," will be honored for and his culinary contribution to TriBeCa and his heroic efforts to feed the volunteers in the aftermath of 9/11.

Zak Events - For outstanding corporate event design

BI Worldwide - For bringing high-level corporate meetings and incentives to NYC.

Past recipients of The June Briggs Award include: Jonathan Tisch, the New York Yankees, Trump Soho Hotel (Ivanka Trump), NY-1's "Onstage," UniWorld Tours, Hilton NY, NYC & Company, "Great Performances," New York Marriott Marquis, Macy*s Visitors Center, Patina Restaurant Group, The Four Seasons Hotel, Remi Restaurant, Tavern on the Green, The Cipriani Group, The '21' Club and Chez Josephine, among others.

Founded in 2002 by Briggs Inc. President Anthony Napoli, The June Briggs Awards are named in honor of the visionary founder of the destination management company (DMC) industry in New York, June Briggs. A DMC provides design and implementation services for events, activities, tours, transportation and program logistics for meetings, incentive programs and special events, operating with extensive knowledge of the destination they serve.

Anthony Napoli, the President of Briggs Inc., has been a leader in the destination management/incentive travel industry for more than 20 years. He is the founder of the June Briggs Awards, and a winner of the Local Hero Award for his board involvement and special event fund raising assistance to many NYC theatre companies. In addition, Napoli is a frequent industry panelist, often quoted in travel industry publications, and an active member of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, New York Theatre Workshop, New York Festival of Song, Special Event Museum, and chaired the 2003 New York City Anchors of the Hospitality Industry Awards. Napoli is a prominent member of NYC & Co. and was a founding member of the CEME committee.
