Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' musical Mamma Mia! welcomes Broadway favorite Judy McLane (Kiss of the Spider Woman, Chess) back to the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway) as two new "Dads" make their Broadway debut on Wednesday, September 26, 2007. Christopher Shyer (Canadian premieres of Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, The Phantom of the Opera) will star as "Sam Carmichael" as Ben Livingston assumes the role of "Harry Bright."
Mamma Mia! will celebrate its sixth sold out year on Broadway on Thursday, October 18th, 2007.
Judy McLane returns to the role of "Tanya" and reunites with two-time Tony Award nominated actress Carolee Carmello (Parade, Lestat, Urinetown) as "Donna Sheridan" and Gina Ferrall (Beauty and the Beast, Big River) as "Rosie," the trio of best friends and former back-up band formerly know as "Donna and the Dynamos" who reunite on a Greek island for the wedding of Donna's daughter, Sophie.
Pearce Bunting (Mamma Mia! national tour) continues as "Bill Austin" and welcomes both Christopher Shyer and Ben Livingston in their Broadway debut performances "Sam Carmichael" and "Harry Bright," who are the three men from Donna's past and Sophie's possible dads.
Bride-to-be "Sophie Sheridan" is played by Carey Anderson, who made her Broadway debut after starring in the national tour of Mamma Mia! Her fiancé "Sky" is played by Andy Kelso and Ben Gettinger plays his sidekick "Pepper," both men also making their Broadway bows. The cast also features Samantha Eggers "Lisa"and Veronica J. Kuehn as "Ali," Sophie's best friends and Raymond J. Lee as "Eddie."
Mamma Mia!'s ensemble features Brent Black, Timothy Booth, Isaac Calpito, Allyson Carr, Meghan Dreyfuss, Lori Haley Fox, Frankie James Grande, Bryan Scott Johnson, Monica Kapoor, Corinne Melançon, Steve Morgan, Courtney Reed, Amina Robinson, Gerard Salvador and Leah Zepel.
Seen by more than 30 million people around the world, Mamma Mia!, is celebrating 6 sold-out years at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre, and is also currently playing record-breaking engagements in Las Vegas and on National Tour in the United States.
