According to the Associated Press, Broadway's Judy Kaye, Cady Huffman, Annaleigh Ashford and Randy Graff are set to perform at a benefit to raise funds for the fight against pulmonary fibrosis. The Tony Award winners will be joined by Telly Leung and Robert Creighton at the sixth annual Broadway Belts for PFF concert. Actress and comedienne Julie Halston, whose husband, newscaster Ralph Howard, battled the disease, will serve as host.
The event will be held on February 29, 2016 at the Edison Ballroom in New York City. This special evening unites Broadway's stars and key members of the pulmonary fibrosis community for a night of outstanding entertainment. Broadway Belts for PFF! has raised over $400,000 for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation's Michael Kuchwara Fund for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Research, Education, and Advocacy
Commented Halston, "Can you imagine not being able to breathe? That's what we're fighting for and why this evening, filled with Broadway's best 'belting to the rafters,' is so important to me. The leap in treatment since 2010 has been astounding, but much more needs to be done until there is a cure."
