Tony Award nominee Josh Gad took to Facebook today to announce that work is underway for a new musical film he is developing along with an all-star creative team! The BOOK OF MORMON star captioned the photo: "The very first creative session on a new musical film being developed by me, Mr.garek Alan Menken, Michael DeLuca, and Stephen Schwartz. Can't wait to share this with you all!"

Back in 2015, Deadline reported that Universal was behind the project from Josh Gad and writer-director Jeremy Garelick. At the time, the site reported that there was "talk of a stage transfer if all goes well." The story was described as "a contemporary vehicle for Gad" who would take on the role of "a domestic who integrates into family with a busy single mother, and becomes an important part of the clan."

Alan Menken is best known for his Disney film scores such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Pocahontas which have earned him Academy Awards. He also composed the scores for the musicals Little Shop of Horrors (1986), Newsies (1992), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), Hercules (1997), Enchanted (2007), Tangled (2010) and Sausage Party (2016), among others.
Composer Stephen Schwartz has written such hit musicals as Godspell (1971), Pippin (1972) and Wicked (2003). He has contributed lyrics for a number of successful films, including Pocahontas (1995), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), The Prince of Egypt (1998; music and lyrics) andEnchanted (2007). Schwartz has won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics, three Grammy Awards, three Academy Awards and has been nominated for six Tony Awards.
DeLuca is a movie producer and screenwriter who has been nominated for three Academy Awards.
Gad voiced lovable snowman Olaf in Disney's Frozen, and originated the role of Elder Arnold Cunningham in the Broadway musical The Book of Mormon. He played Skip Gilchrist in the political sitcom 1600 Penn on NBC, and a fictionalized version of himself on FX's The Comedians, alongside Billy Crystal. His film roles include The Rocker, The Internship, 21, Love & Other Drugs, Frozen, Jobs, Pixels, The Wedding Ringer, and The Angry Birds Movie.
