Rip van Winkle was a short story written by Washington Irving and is a story from the time of THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION that helped lend a mythic air to colonial America. Details of Gad's take on the story has not been released. Gad will produce with Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich of Rideback. Cynthia Erivo will executive producer with Ryan Halprin of Rideback.
Erivo is a Tony winner for her starring role in the Broadway revival of The Color Purple. She recently starred in the Steve McQueen crime drama Widows and in Drew Goddard's film, Bad Times at the El Royale.
