Choreographer Josh Bergasse is choreographing the new Steven Spielberg produced drama series "Smash" on NBC, scheduled to debut in February of 2012. Starring, Will and Grace alumnus Debra Messing, Shakespearean actress Anjelica Huston, singer/actress Katharine McPhee and Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy star Jack Davenport, "Smash" follows the story of the making of a fictional stage show, "Marilyn: The Musical," about the life of Marilyn Monroe. "Smash" will air on Mondays at 10 pm.

"Smash" marks Bergasse's first lead choreography job for the full season of a network show, though his work has appeared on television before. Most recently he choreographed for the current season of FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance." On stage his work is currently featured in "Guys and Dolls" playing at the Barrington Stage. The show opened in July to wonderful reviews, highlighting Bergasse's amazing choreography. The Boston Globe said, "the Choreography by Joshua Bergasse is first rate, and sometimes electrifying, especially in "The Crapshooters Dance," a show stopping number in which members of the ensemble take turns doing back flips."

With "Smash," Josh's star continues to rise as he proves himself as a young choreographer to watch in 2012.
