The producers of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical Jersey Boys have announced that Joseph Leo Bwarie and Nick Cosgrove will assume the role of Frankie Valli in the Broadway cast tonight, January 28, 2014.
Mr. Bwarie, who made his Broadway debut in the show last year, has played the role of Frankie Valli nearly 1,700 performances (including Las Vegas, the 1st national tour and Broadway). Mr. Cosgrove makes his Broadway debut direct from the national tour. After nearly 6 years with the production between the Broadway, Las Vegas and Chicago companies, Dominic Scaglione Jr. played his final performance as Frankie Valli last Sunday, January 26, 2013.
The Broadway company also includes Richard H. Blake (Tommy DeVito), Matt Bogart (Nick Massi) and Drew Gehling (Bob Gaudio) with Peter Gregus and Mark Lotito, and Miles Aubrey, Erik Bates, Candi Boyd, Jared Bradshaw, Cara Cooper, Ken Dow, John Edwards, Russell Fischer, Katie O'Toole, Joe Payne, Mauricio Pérez, Nathan Scherich, Sara Schmidt, Katie Webber.
JERSEY BOYS opened on Broadway to critical acclaim on November 6, 2005 at the August Wilson Theatre. The show has been seen by over 19 million people worldwide (as of January, 2014) and is currently playing in New York; Las Vegas; London; in cities across the U.S. on a National Tour, The Netherlands and Seoul, South Korea.
JERSEY BOYS is written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and is directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Des McAnuff and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo.
