Jordan Jaffe's New Eco-Comedy WHIRLWIND To Have Staged Reading In New York

Fresh off our recent run of Crude at Theater 511 @ Ars Nova, join Black Lab Theatre Sunday, November 20th at 5:30pm at Dixon Place for a New York staged reading of Jordan Jaffe's new eco-comedy Whirlwind, featuring Dan Amboyer (TV Land's "Younger"), Anapurnna Sriram (Showtime's "Billions", Jesse Eisenberg's The Spoils The New Group/London), and Nico Tortorella (TV Land's Younger, Jordan Jafffe's Crude). This is a free event. Dixon place is located at 161A Chrystie St, New York, NY 10002.

Whirlwind, a satirical exploration of environmental politics and modern love in today's greening world, centers around wind energy specialist Bethany Greenbridge (Sriram) as she meets her match in eco-crusader bird expert Michael Zrinski (Tortorella).

Nico Tortorella stars as a lead in Darren Star's comedy series "Younger". Previously he was a series regular opposite Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy on Fox's hugely successful series "The Following". Nico's recent feature films include his starring role in Stephen Sommers' Odd Thomas opposite Anton Yelchin, Willem Dafoe and Tim Robbins. Joel Schumacher was the first to identify Nico's natural and raw talent casting him in two films over the past several years...Twelve and Trespass. A longtime theater fan, Nico could most recently be found on stage in Jordan Jaffe's Crude and tap dancing opposite "Younger" co-star Sutton Foster for four of her tour dates with The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Annapurna Sriram was born in Burlington VT and moved to Nashville Tennessee at the age of four. As a teenager, she was a championship Irish Step Dancer and attended Nashville School of the Arts. Annapurna graduated from Rutgers University with a BFA in acting from Mason Gross School of the Arts. In television, Annapurna can currently be seen on NBC's "The Blacklist" and has recurred on the Showtime series "Billions" with Paul Giamatti and Damien Lewis as well as the WeTV series "South of Hell" with Mena Suvari and Zachary Booth. She will next be seen in two independent films, Stephanie Sparks' In Case of Emergency and Christopher James Lopez's Adrift. Last year, Annapurna was one of the leads the Jesse Eisenberg hit play The Spoils for The New Group and she was able to reprise the role in London on the West End at Trafalgar Studios.

Dan Amboyer played Thad Weber on the first two seasons of Darren Star's hit TV series "Younger," and will now appear as twin brother Chad in the upcoming third season. Michael Kahn), Orlando in As You Like It, Bertram in Inherit the Wind (both helmed by Adrian Noble) Henry VII in Richard III (dir. Film/TV: Starred as Prince William in Hallmark's William & Catherine: A Royal Romance, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Love the Coopers, CBS' "Untitled John Cusack Pilot," "Benders," "Inside Amy Schumer," "Person of Interest," "Unforgettable," "Body of Proof," "Graceland," "Law & Order," "All My Children." Jordan Jaffe is a NY based playwright, director and the Artistic Director of Black Lab Theatre. Jordan's Energy Series, a series of plays that each center around a particular energy source, includes: Crude (Oil), Fracked (Natural Gas), Whirlwind (Wind). The world premiere of his play Crude was produced by Black Lab Theatre at Theater 511 at Ars Nova in New York City in April/May, 2016. Jordan is also developing various film, television, and new media projects. Jordan's directing credits with Black Lab in Texas include Bad Jews (produced with Stages Repertory Theatre and the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston), Tigers Be Still (Houston Press Award 2014-15 nominee Best Director), Really Really, Assistance and The Submission. Jordan is a proud graduate of Rice University with a BA in Visual and Dramatic Arts, and has also trained at the Atlantic Acting School in New York. In 2013 Jordan was named to the Houston Press' Top 100 Creatives list of "movers and shakers".
