American Society of Music Arrangers & Composers (ASMAC) and American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers (ASCAP) present "Up Close & Personal" with Musical Director, Orchestrator and Composer Jonathan Tunick. The evening will be an in-depth conversation with the Oscar, Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award winner, hosted by ASMAC President Orchestrator/Arranger/Music Director Larry Blank.

Join the event for dinner and an insightful look into the career of Jonathan Tunick, one of only 12 people to have won all four major American show business awards: Tony Award, Academy Award, Emmy Award and Grammy Award. Much of his work has arisen from his involvement in theatre, and since 1970, he has worked on most of the musicals of Stephen Sondheim, beginning with Company through the 2010-11 revival of Follies.

Broadway credits also include Promises, Promises; Dames at Sea; A Little Night Music; A Chorus Line; Sweeney Todd; Nine; Into the Woods; Nick & Noras; Phantom; The Color Purple; Marie Christine; The Wind in the Willows; Road Show; and Paradise Found...to name a few.

On film and television, credits include Blazing Saddles; Young Frankenstein; A Little Night Music; Endless Love; Sweeney Todd; Murder, She Wrote; Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories; The Birdcage; and The Fantasticks.

He has also worked as an arranger and/or conductor on recordings with Judy Collins, Cleo Laine, Kiri Te Kanawa, Itzhak Perlman, Placido Domingo, Johnny Mathis, Barbra Streisand, Paul McCartney and Bernadette Peters to name a few.

The event kicks off tonight, September 13, 2012 at 5:00pm. Cocktails and dinner from 5:45 pm to 7:00 pm. It all happens at Birdland, located at 315 West 44th Street, New York, New York.
